Villarrica Volcano Hike
Villarrica Volcano Hike
At 6 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Pucón and drive to the base of the famous Villarrica Volcano.
Once we arrive at the foothills of this Andean peak, located between the Chilean regions of Araucania and Los Lagos, we'll take a chairlift up to an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level. From there, we'll begin a hiking route to the summit of Villarrica, to a towering 2,847 meters above sea level!
During the ascent, which will be of medium-high difficulty and last 4 to 5 hours, we'll get to see the Villarrica crater. This spectacular caldera is always generating smoke and measures no less than 200 meters in diameter.
From the summit of the volcano, we'll be able to see other peaks located in the surroundings, such as the Lanín and Quetrupillán volcanoes, as well as views of the Villarica and Calafquén lakes. If the day is clear, we may even be able to admire the green valleys that border these lakes.
Once we've worked up an appetite, we'll make a stop so that you can have your picnic lunch while you enjoy the panoramic views.
Finally, we'll take the chairlift to the base of the volcano and then return to your hotel in Pucón, where we'll arrive at 6 pm.
