Argentinian Mate Workshop in Puerto Iguazú
Workshop Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at number 103 of avenida Misiones. Once we've all gathered, we'll head to a place dedicated to the passion of the Argentina's emblematic drink.
We'll start with a complete ritual, from the preparation of the utensils to the first sip. We'll tell you about the history and curiosities of yerba mate. For example, did you know that, for a long time, it was considered a sacred drink for the Guarani people?
After choosing the ingredient, we'll prepare the container, which can be made of different materials, such as wood, gourd or steel. Next, we'll deal with the bombilla, the metal straw that filters the yerba. We'll see how to clean it and leave it ready to be placed without moving it during the priming.
Then, we'll fill the mate with yerba mate and gently tilt it to one side. Every step has its trick! The time will come to put the water in the mate: what is the ideal temperature? Is there a correct position to pour the liquid? We'll tell you every detail!
At last, the most awaited moment: after some last instructions, we'll take the bombilla to our lips and discover the intense flavour and effects of the most loved infusion for Argentinians.
Finally, after this 30-minute experience, we'll conclude the Argentinian mate workshop, and you'll be able to take the bombilla as a souvenir. See you next time!
