Cayambe Coca National Park & Tayos Caves Excursion
Cayambe Coca National Park & Tayos Caves Excursion
First thing in the morning, at 5 am to be exact, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Quito and hit the road to Baeza. This Amazonian town will be our first stop, where we'll have a typical breakfast with incredible panoramic views of the tropical rainforest.
After fueling up for the day, we'll walk to one of the excursion's main attractions: the magical waterfall of the Cayambe Coca National Park. Its 50 meters of height and the surrounding landscape will leave you speechless!
Next, the excursion will take us to see the viewpoint at the Coca Codo Sinclair hydroelectric plant. Then, on the way to the Tayos Caves, we'll stop for a typical lunch of the Amazon region at a spot with privileged views of the entire jungle of Ecuador.
After lunch, we'll walk through several streams to the famous Cueva de los Tayos (Tayos Caves). Aside from being an amazing natural formation, this place is the habitat of the tayos, a bird characteristic of this area that we'll find in the different nooks and crannies of the cave.
After discovering the magical landscapes of the Ecuadorian Amazon, we'll start on our way back, returning to the hotels at approximately 8 pm.
