Quilotoa Andean Communities Tour
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at your selected point in Quito to start this tour of the Andean communities of Quilotoa.
First, we'll head to the Tigua region, composed of small farming communities nestled in the western mountain range. There, we'll discover the great artistic talents of its inhabitants, among which stand out the artists who create stunning paintings on sheepskin.
Next, we'll visit the community of Zumbahua. From here, we'll be treated to magnificent views of the Toachi river canyon, a result of a geological fault that occurred thousands of years ago.
Our final stop will be the community of Quilotoa, where the main attraction is the stunning Quilotoa lagoon. With its mesmerizing emerald green color, it's hailed as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. We'll embark on a 45-minute hike to the lagoon and take in its beauty up close. At the lagoon, you'll be able to relax in its surroundings or even rent a kayak and go exploring!
Afterward, we'll indulge in a delicious lunch consisting of a starter, main course, and dessert. With refreshed energy, you'll have free time to explore and appreciate Quilotoa and its magnificent lagoon.
Finally, we'll conclude our 11-hour tour by returning to Quito.
