Quito Street Food Tour
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Plaza Grande to start a very tasty tour.
We'll first go to the Archbishop's Palace, where we'll try some of Quito's traditional sweets, such as the famous mistelas. What is the history behind these tasty treats? Find out on this tour!
We'll then make our way to the San Francisco Market, one of the most popular in the city. There we'll taste various juices and smoothies with exotic fruits and even try one of the most typical dishes of Ecuador, 'mote con chicharrón'. Do you know what it is? We'll soon find out!
Afterwards, we'll visit different 'huecas', places where we'll taste traditional succulent snacks such as humitas, tamales or quimbolitos. We'll wash down all of these tasty corn-based dishes with a good strong coffee or a cup of morocho - a traditional Ecuadorian drink. But that's not all! We'll get to taste much more elaborate dishes such as the national dish of Ecuador 'encebollado', a fish soup and some ceviche. It's enough to make your mouth water!
Our next stop will be at Ronda, where we'll enjoy some paila ice cream and reveal the history of Equatorian coffee, known across the world for its aroma and quality.
Have you left room for dessert? The (chocolate) icing on the cake of this tour will be a visit to the best chocolate in the country! As we all know Ecuador is famous for its chocolate.
After 3.5 hours, we'll finish the tour at Yumbos Chocolate shop.
