Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Recife and head to Olinda, one of Brazil's colonial gems. Surrounded by palm trees, coconut trees, and the vegetation of the Atlantic Forest, this city offers a unique setting where history blends with the sea.

We'll begin our tour at the Eufrásio Barbosa Market. This building, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, has been restored, preserving its architectural essence, making it the perfect gateway to understanding the region's past.

We'll stroll through the city's famous ladeiras (slopes) and narrow streets, admiring the colorful colonial-style facades. We'll stop at the Anticuario Arte Machê Café to see the inside of a typical Olinda house. Fancy something sweet? There, you can try Bolo de Souza Leão, a delicious traditional Pernambuco cake, accompanied by artisan coffee.

Next, we'll continue to the Mercado da Ribeira, famous for its variety of wood and ceramic works, and for its scenic viewpoints, ideal for photography lovers. From there, we'll arrive at the Quatro Cantos de Olinda, the nerve center of the Pernambuco Carnival, where we'll contemplate the imposing Ladeira da Misericórdia.

Our route will also take us past the Olinda Museum of Contemporary Art, located in an old 18th-century building that once served as a prison and episcopal palace. We'll continue along Rua do Amparo, the city's most famous street, lined with artists' studios and restaurants. We'll stop at Botega do Veio, a landmark establishment known for its cozy, bohemian atmosphere.

To round off the experience, we'll climb up to Alto da Sé. As night falls and the temperature becomes much more pleasant, you'll have 1 hour of free time to enjoy the local cuisine and the lively atmosphere of the illuminated squares before returning to your hotel.

Arrival back in Recife is scheduled approximately 7 hours after pickup.
