At the scheduled time, we’ll meet in front of the Jardim Oceânico metro station to begin this tour of Barra da Tijuca. After a welcome, you’ll be able to download a digital map that will guide you throughout the tour.
Just a few steps from the pier, we’ll board a boat and set off on a 1-hour boat tour through this stunning natural setting.
We’ll navigate through canals, islets, and mangroves while you learn about the history of Gigóia Island—from its origins as a fishing village to its transformation into one of Rio de Janeiro’s most unique spots.
During the trip, we’ll pass through areas where caimans roam freely, and with a little luck, we’ll also spot capybaras, crabs, and birds that find their natural refuge here.
We’ll disembark on Gigóia Island, where you’ll have free time to explore its quiet alleys, discover local craft shops, and relax at one of its restaurants.
Finally, we’ll return to the original meeting point after a 1-hour tour.
