Tour Options
When booking, you can choose between two private layover tour options in Rio de Janeiro. Both include transportation by car or minibus and an English-speaking guide who’ll accompany you from the airport pickup until the transfer back to the terminal.
Upon arrival, we’ll be waiting for you with a sign with your name to begin the tour. As this is a private service, you’ll also be able to customize the itinerary according to your preferences.
4-Hour Tour
If you choose this option, we’ll explore some of Rio de Janeiro’s most famous beaches. We’ll pass through the exclusive neighborhoods of Leblon and Ipanema, visit Arpoador, and soak up the lively atmosphere of Copacabana. We’ll also stop at the Leblon viewpoint for unforgettable panoramic views and head to Aterro do Flamengo, the perfect place to admire the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain.
6-Hour Tour
If you have more time, this option also includes the beaches mentioned above, but adds a visit to the historic center of Rio de Janeiro. We’ll pass through Cinelândia and Praça XV to discover monuments that shaped the city’s past. To complete the experience, we’ll drive through the lush Tijuca Forest, a natural gem declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Important: Layover Length
To make the most of your layover, please note that the round-trip journey between the airport and the city center usually takes about 1.5 hours. You should also be at the terminal at least two hours before your next flight.
For this reason, we recommend a minimum layover of 7.5 hours if you choose the 4-hour tour. If you prefer the 6-hour option, your layover should be at least 9.5 hours.
