Cocora Valley Day Trip + Coffee Farm Visit
Day Trip Details
We'll set off toward the spectacular Valle de Cocora, one of the most iconic landscapes in the Coffee Region.
After around 30 minutes on the road, we'll arrive and begin our walk among the wax palms, Colombia's national tree, while taking in the viewpoints and the lush Andean scenery all around us.
After around 2.5 hours of exploration, we'll head back to Salento for a typical Colombian lunch at a local restaurant, including beans, white rice, avocado, and a stewed protein.
Refreshed and refueled, we'll make our way to a coffee farm in the Boquía area, where you'll discover the entire coffee process firsthand, from harvesting the beans to brewing the final cup. You'll walk through the coffee fields, see the pulping, drying, and roasting process, and enjoy a specialty coffee tasting paired with a dessert.
We'll then head to Salento for a brief panoramic tour of the town, starting at the viewpoint, walking down the main street lined with craft shops, and finishing at Salento's main square.
If you departed from Salento, we'll say our goodbyes here after 8 hours together. If we picked you up in Pereira, we'll head back to the starting point and wrap up there, 10 hours after setting off.
