Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tirana at the indicated time and, from there, we'll begin our journey towards the outskirts of the capital of Albania.
Just over 20 kilometres (12.4 miles) from Tirana is Lake Bovilla and its reservoir, which provides drinking water for the city. This beautiful lake is one of the most beautiful natural features in Albania, located at the foot of the Gamti Mountains.
When we arrive, we'll take a 30-minute walk passing between green hills with beautiful views of the lake in the background. This path will take us to the highest point, from where we'll enjoy an incredible panoramic view of Lake Bovilla. Afterwards, we'll give you an hour of free time to take pictures, visit a natural cave, and sit and relax in these surroundings.
Next, we'll drive to the town of Krujë, which will take about 40 minutes. Upon arrival, you'll have an hour for lunch in one of the traditional restaurants. After lunch, we'll meet again to visit the Fortress of Krujë and its museum. We'll climb to the top of this 5th century building while we tell you about its long history and the siege times that took place within its walls.
Lastly, we'll visit the narrow streets of the medieval bazaar of Krujë, one of the largest and oldest in the Balkans. We'll stroll among its traditional wooden houses and stalls of exotic carpets and jewellery.
Finally, we'll return to Tirana and arrive back at the starting point 8 hours after the start of the tour.
