Hike Details
We'll meet at the designated time in front of the soccer field in Tortuguero. From there, we'll head to the main entrance of the Tortuguero National Park, where we'll complete registration before starting the Jaguar trail. Ready to explore one of the most famous trails in this natural gem in Costa Rica?
Our hike will start by stepping into a unique ecosystem that harbors an impressive Costa Rican biodiversity. As we continue, you'll feel the humidity filling the tropical forest.
Occasionally, you'll hear the birds singing and the leaves crunching, a sign that the animals are moving among the vegetation. Stay tuned—we'll tell you when to look up to the treetops!
The Jaguar trail, spanning 1.86 miles (3 kilometers), will take us through dense tropical trees, where tree roots emerge from the ground. If you're lucky, you'll spot monkeys, toucans, and sloths resting in the highest branches, as well as small amphibians and colorful insects.
During the hike, you'll discover the vast flora as you walk. We'll stop to admire the footprints of animals on the ground, a reminder that we're in one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in Costa Rica's Caribbean region.
After finishing this 2-hour hike, we'll return to the initial starting point, where we'll say our goodbyes.
