Château de Chenonceau Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Tours Tourist Office and begin this day trip to the Château de Chenonceau, which is nestled in the Loire Valley.
Once at the so-called "Château des Dames", we'll take a guided tour of its most important rooms. This nickname is due to the significant architectural influence of several female figures throughout its history, including Diane de Poitiers, Catherine de' Medici and Louise Dupin.
As we tour this construction, which dates back to the 13th century, we'll admire a captivating collection of furniture, tapestries and paintings, including masterpieces by Rubens, Tintoretto, Van Loo, Murillo, Veronese, Poussin, Van Dyck and many more artists.
Throughout the tour, we'll explore highlights of the château such as the bedroom of Diane de Poitiers, the Green Cabinet, the Gallery and the kitchens. After the guided tour, you'll have free time to stroll through the enchanting Renaissance gardens surrounding the château, a perfect moment to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
Finally, we'll return to the departure point, where we'll say our goodbyes after about 4 hours in total.
