Kayak on Três Forquilhas River
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at Sítio Lima e Silva to kick off our kayak tour along the Três Forquilhas River. Ready to paddle?
First, we'll make our way to the Chapéau River, where we'll organize our kayaking equipment in preparation for this exciting adventure. The starting point for our journey is renowned for being the site of a steamboat harbor constructed in the 1920s.
We'll navigate through narrow canals until we reach the Três Forquilhas River. Its intriguing name originates from the confluence of the Chapéu and Maior rivers, giving it the appearance of forks scattered across the region's geography. The Três Forquilhas River, in turn, serves as the primary tributary to the Itapeva Lagoon, one of the largest in this region of Rio Grande do Sul.
We'll kayak along a 5.5-kilometer (3.4 miles) stretch of the riverbed, taking in the distinctive flora of the Atlantic Forest. If the weather is favorable, we'll make a brief stop en route to indulge in a refreshing swim.
After 3 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the BR 101 road in Três Forquilhas, returning our kayaks and parting ways.
