Abseiling in the El Silencio Canyon
Activity Details
We'll meet at the indicated time in front of the Atlantic Campus of the University of Costa Rica. Here, we'll prepare the necessary equipment and we'll give you your wetsuits, helmets, harnesses and backpacks. Once we're ready, you'll have to hop onto your own vehicle to head to the Sitio Mata in Turrialba, located only 20 minutes away. Let's go!
Upon arrival, you'll have parking available at the starting point of the route, from where we'll embark on a 30-minute hike to reach the El Silencio Canyon. Along the way, we'll pass through sugar cane plantations and, at times, enjoy panoramic views of the Angostura reservoir and the Turrialba and Irazú volcanoes. Get your cameras ready!
The El Silencio canyon tour will include 5 jumps of between 8 and 20 metres (26 to 65 ft) in height, each offering a unique challenge. The tour will give you the opportunity to slide down natural slides and swim in crystal-clear pools of water perfect for cooling off.
In addition, this place is one of the best preserved natural enclaves in the region, where you'll see sloths, morpho butterflies and different reptiles.
Finally, after 6 hours of adventure, we'll conclude the tour at the initial meeting point.
