Cerroe Cortez Hike
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Ushuaia and begin a short journey towards the base of Cerro Cortez.
Once we've arrived at the foothills of this mountain on the Tierra del Fuego, we'll begin an exciting hiking route where we'll walk a total of 6 kilometres (3.72 miles), with an elevation of around 550 metres (1804 ft.). Ready to face this challenge in the most southern part of Argentina?
We'll begin the hike by traversing a dense lenga forest. As we begin to climb we'll leave the forest behind and begin to enjoy some incredible views of Ushuaia Bay. We'll also see the Beagle Channel, whose waters demarcate the border between Chile and Argentina.
We'll continue the hike by ascending to the summit of Cerrot Cortez. From the peak, we'll have magnificent views of Cerro Portillo and Monte Olivia. You'll be able to take some amazing photos of these beautiful landscapes!
We'll take a short break at the top of Cerro Cortez to enjoy a delicious picnic-style lunch and a hot drink.
After eating, we'll begin the journey back to the start of the trail. There, our transport will be waiting to bring us back to Ushuaia, where we're expected to arrive back at the hotels after around 8 hours together.
