Cerro Guanaco Hike
Description
We'll collect you from your hotel in Ushuaia at the scheduled time, and make our way westwards.
After a 40-minute journey, we'll arrive at the Argentine banks of the Acigami Lake, known as Lake Roca on the Chilean shore. Once there, we'll begin our exciting 8 km (4.97 mile) hiking route, with an ascension of around 900 metres (2952 ft.). Ready for the challenge?
We'll begin the hike by skirting around Lake Acigami, and then, we'll enter a dense lenga forest. After leaving this area behind, we'll begin climbing to the summit of Cerro Guanaco. During the climb, we'll admire the Chilean banks of Lake Roca and its surrounding mountains.
Once we've arrived at the summit of Cerro Guanaco, which is located 960 metres (3149 ft.) above sea level, we'll delight in a warming picnic-style lunch. This lunch will consist of a sandwich, chocolate pudding, apple and hot drink, of which you can choose between coffee, mate or tea.
After eating, we'll begin our descent until we reach the original starting point of our hike. There, our vehicle will be waiting for us to bring us back to the hotels in Ushuaia, where the tour will be brought to an end after around 7 hours.
