Ushuaia Electric Bike Tour
Options
During the booking process, you can choose between 4 routes. Each start and end at 756 Gobernador Deloqui Street, and include an English-speaking guide, an electric bike rental, and a helmet. Below, you'll find a brief description of each option:
Ushuaia Tour (3 Hours)
If you prefer the city, this route is ideal for you. In this case, from the starting point, we'll go in search of the Presidio Museum, where we'll remember the so-called prisoners from the end of the world who shaped the first urban layout of Ushuaia.
Next, we'll skirt the waterfront, with the bay reflecting the snow-capped peaks. The route will take us to the highest part of Encerrada Bay. We'll circle this enclave, passing through the neighborhoods of Misión Baja and Misión Alta, contemplating the peaceful life in the colorful houses so typical of the city.
We'll reach the Mirador del Beagle, where we'll see the perfect combination of oceans, mountains, and city planning. Cameras ready! Then, we'll descend along the Buena Esperanza stream to the Andino neighborhood, where we'll see the Laguna del Diablo on our way to Laguna Café. Of course, there, we'll sit down to enjoy a cup of tea and a light snack. Well deserved!
Schedule: every day at 9:30 am and 2 pm
Encerrada Bay + Beagle and Wallner Viewpoints Tour (4 Hours)
In this case, we'll set off directly on electric bikes to the Encerrada Bay Urban Nature Reserve. As soon as we enter this enclave, we'll see a tidal pool inhabited by black-necked swans and Arctic birds. From there, we'll continue on to the popular Beagle Viewpoint.
Next, we'll skirt the Buena Esperanza stream as we venture along a rugged trail lined with lenga and ñire trees until we reach the Wallner Viewpoint. From more than 300 m (984 ft) above sea level, we'll contemplate the tiny, picturesque city in front of the Martial mountain range.
We'll calmly begin our return journey along the same route to the Laguna del Diablo lake in the Andino neighborhood. Its waters, which turn into a skating rink in winter, will invite us to take a break at the Laguna Café, where we'll enjoy a well-deserved snack and a cup of tea.
Schedule: every day at 9 am and 2 pm
Estancia Túnel Tour (5 Hours)
We'll start the tour by driving to Baliza Escarpados. There, we'll hand out the electric bikes and begin pedaling along a trail through the Patagonian forests of the Playa Larga Nature Reserve. From the very first minute, the fresh scent of vegetation will welcome us. What a great start!
We'll leave this enclave behind to reach a panoramic viewpoint that will offer us incredible views of the Beagle Channel, with its endless waters silhouetted by the Chilean coastline. We'll continue crossing a stream until we reach a second viewpoint, where we'll see the Estancia Túnel, a place that has witnessed the rural past of Tierra del Fuego.
Upon arriving at the ranch, we'll settle in to rest and enjoy a cup of tea while taking in the immensity of the landscape. We'll resume our journey along the coastal road to the Encajonado River, where we'll make one last stop. There, we'll contemplate the rugged beauty of the southern tip before returning to the vehicle to head back to Ushuaia.
Schedule: every day at 9 am and 2 pm
Beban Waterfall Tour (6 Hours)
Once ready, we'll drive to the start of the trail that leads to Laguna Esmeralda. There, we'll adjust the electric bikes and put on our helmets to begin our adventure on two wheels.
We'll bike for 1.5 km (1 mi) before turning west onto the Hacheros trail. We'll cross the bridge over the Esmeralda River, which illustrates the immensity of the Tierra del Fuego region. When we reach the three-way fork, we'll take the trail that leads to the Beban waterfall. Along the route, we'll cross peat bogs shaped by beaver dams that border crystal-clear lagoons.
The next stretch will be marked by paths between open valleys, where the wind will carry the scent of moss and the view will expand, adorned by snow-capped peaks. Finally, we'll reach Beban Falls, a silvery veil in front of the glacier of the same name as a backdrop.
Finally, we'll return to the vehicle that will take us back to the initial meeting point, where we'll enjoy a cup of tea and a snack.
Schedule: every day at 9 am and 2 pm
