Here's what each route involves:
Hallstatt Day Trip
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your selected hotel in Vienna. The drive will take us through the stunning mountain district of Salzkammergut.
After 3.5 hours on the road, we'll arrive in Hallstatt, a picturesque village nestled in the Austrian Alps that will charm you from the very first moment. Did you know this village inspired the Frozen Kingdom in the movie Frozen? It's not hard to see why... It's absolutely stunning! Accompanied by our guide, we'll take a guided tour covering 700 years of history, strolling through the Alpine alleyways that have witnessed great tragedies and admiring the architectural details of the houses and the church.
You'll then have around 1.5 hours of free time to grab lunch and continue exploring the town.
To round off the visit, if you're travelling in summer, we'll say goodbye to Hallstatt with a pleasant boat ride on the lake. At other times of the year, we'll visit the Bone House, located in the Chapel of St. Michael. This fascinating attraction, known for its collection of over 600 artistically painted skulls, dates back to the 12th century.
Finally, we'll head back by bus to the Austrian capital, arriving around 13 hours later. We'll drop you off near the Vienna State Opera.
Pickup Info
When booking, you'll see a dropdown menu with different pickup times and hotels in central Vienna. Please select one of these options. If your accommodation doesn't appear on the list, or if you're booking less than 24 hours in advance, we'll pick you up at the designated time at a point near the Vienna State Opera.
Hallstatt and Melk Abbey Day Trip
For this option, we'll pick you up at the designated time at the Vienna State Opera and set off on a panoramic drive through the picturesque Salzkammergut region, where rolling hills, charming villages, and shimmering lakes create a truly postcard-perfect landscape.
Along the way, we'll make a stop at Melk Abbey for photos and to admire one of Austria's most iconic monuments. This Benedictine monastery sits on the banks of the Danube River and was founded in the 11th century.
The route then continues to Hallstatt, where you'll have 2.5 hours of free time to explore this charming village at your own pace.
In the afternoon, we'll make our way back to the meeting point in Vienna.
