How to see the White House

Visiting the inside of the White House as a tourist can be quite tricky, and requires a lot of planning, including a formal request through the embassy.

History

The construction of the White House took longer than anticipated. It began in 1792 under George Washington's supervision but wasn't completed until 1800 after his term had ended. As such, John Adams was actually the first President to take residence in the White House!
