Santo Antônio de Lisboa Food Tour
Food Tour Details
After meeting at the Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Necessidades, we'll set off to the beating heart of gastronomy in the urban district of Santo Antônio de Lisboa. The influences of the Azores in each dish await!
We'll stroll around this neighborhood, admiring its colonial houses painted in pastel colors. Plus, we'll stop to talk about the anecdotes of the first Portuguese settlers who shaped the fishing community.
On this food tour, we'll visit five restaurants where we'll taste the most symbolic dishes of Florianópolis' western coast. We'll start at a restaurant, where we'll enjoy a tasting of artisanal cachaça. Each sip will immerse you in the strong flavors of this emblematic Brazilian beverage as you discover its distillation process and cultural significance.
We'll visit an oyster farm, where we'll learn about the tradition of oyster farming that made the region famous. We'll see how this seafood is farmed and understand why Santo Antônio de Lisboa is one of the best places to eat oysters in Brazil.
Once we reach the selected restaurants, we'll try typical dishes like coxinha, a golden dough filled with shredded chicken. We'll also taste bolinhos de bacalhau, dadinho de tapioca, soft and lightly toasted with a sweet and savory mix.
During our food tour, we'll also enjoy beverages, of course. You'll drink freshly squeezed sugarcane juice, craft beer, and the famous caipirinha, which will cool you down with its mix of lime, sugar, and cachaça.
For a sweet ending, we'll enjoy a pastéis de Belém, served with a freshly brewed coffee on a terrace in front of the sea as the sun hides behind the tranquil waters of the bay. Amazing!
Finally, after 3 hours, we'll say our goodbyes at the Santo Appetito Cafe.
