Aachen Free Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Marktplatz, the heart of Aachen. From there, we'll start this free tour and discover the most important monuments of the city of Charlemagne.
We'll stop in front of Town Hall, an impressive Gothic style building built between 1353 and 1414 on the ruins of a palace. Over the centuries, it has been a fundamental political and social meeting place in the city.
Next, we'll continue our tour visiting an architectural marvel that has stood the test of time since its construction began in 787: the Aachen Cathedral, the first World Heritage Site in Germany and the oldest cathedral in Northern Europe.
Continuing on, we'll continue walking to admire the different fountains of Aachen, among which stands out the Elissenbrunnen, dating from the 18th century, or the Puppenbrunnen, known for its peculiar design with bronze puppets.
Afterward, we'll contemplate one of the most popular sculptures in the city, the Klenkes sculpture. This work of art depicts a common gesture, one that unites the inhabitants of Aachen by raising the little finger of the right hand.
Finally, we'll approach the Money Fountain, where we'll say goodbye after 1 hour and 45 minutes of sightseeing in Aachen.
