Scottish Highlands Tour: Loch Ness & Inverness
Scottish Highlands Tour: Loch Ness & Inverness
After meeting at 8 am on Guild Street, we'll leave Aberdeen behind and set off on our tour, ready to explore the Scottish Highlands.
We'll make our first stop at Cawdor Castle, located between the towns of Inverness and Nairn and home to intriguing history dating back to the 15th century. You'll have free time to explore inside the castle at your leisure.
Continuing on our tour, we'll head to Culloden, where we'll remember the final battle in the 1745 Jacobite uprising, an attempt for the House of Stuart to reclaim the British throne.
Having learnt all about the history of the Battle of Culloden, we'll make our way to one of the most emblematic places in Scotland: Loch Ness. Here, you'll have free time to get lunch in a local restaurant or to stroll around the surroundings of one of the most famous lakes in the world. Enjoy its spectacular scenery and keep your eyes peeled for the mythical Loch Ness monster!
With renewed energy, we'll next head to Inverness, a town known as the cultural capital of Scotland. You'll have time here to explore its streets and discover its main places of interest, like the mouth of the River Ness, Moray Firth, Inverness Castle and the Cathedral of St Andrew.
We'll make our last stop in the small town of Tomintoul. Located on the slopes of the Cairngorm mountains, from this privileged vantage point we'll enjoy unparalleled panoramic views of the Scottish Highlands - the ideal spot for an unforgettable photo!
At the end of the tour, you'll be dropped back off in Aberdeen for around 7 pm.
