La actividad no estuvo mal, pero una de las esencias del arroz Alicantino son los caldos con los que se hace y no nos enseñaron a hacerlo, ya lo traían hecho. Nos hubiera gustado que nos enseñaran la elaboración del caldo. Además varios ingredientes ya los tenían comprados y congelados porque la actividad fue un 02/01/2026 y no había material fresco en El Mercado. Eso hizo que la calidad disminuyera. Me parece que 50€ por cabeza para lo que finalmente hicimos es demasiado.

The activity wasn't bad, but one of the essential elements of Alicante rice dishes is the broth used to cook it, and they didn't teach us how to make it; it was already prepared. We would have liked them to show us how to make the broth. Furthermore, several ingredients had already been bought and frozen because the activity took place on January 2nd, 2026, and there was no fresh produce available at the market. This resulted in a decrease in quality. I think €50 per person is too much for what we ultimately did.

Fred and the chef were excellent. Fred promptly met us at the Central Market and the tour group joined him as he picked up and explained the ingredients for the paella’s and Sangria. We walked a short couple of blocks to a restaurant where the class was held. The whole class participated in making seafood and pork/veggie paellas then enjoyed it at a sit down meal with appetizers and Sangria. It was a lively, fun and informative experience. The workshop contained a little tour of the market with time to look around and various stops to buy fresh ingredients. The cooking itself was social and authentic with some really good food hacks alongside. All in all, a really fun, local and memorable experience.

Really a good value and fun experience. It was a full group (14), Federico kept it really cohesive and flowing. Guests were from many countries and all understood the explanations. It was obvious he has a good relationship with vendors in the Mercado and controls a large group in a crowded space efficiently. The detail provided was interesting and just enough. La visita al mercado, cocinar la paella, pero sobre todo Juanlu y Rosario con los que nos sentimos muy cómodos gracias a su trato agradable, simpático y familiar, te encontrabas como en casa. Una experiencia genial en todos los aspectos. Juanlu y Dolores son un encanto, más que un taller parecía una comida entre amigos escuchamos, preguntamos, aprendimos, nos reímos,.. Bien organizado, sencillo de entender, colaboramos en todo momento en su realización y disfrutamos de su sabor (nos quedó estupenda). Vuestra triple "A" funciona, nos vemos en el próximo.
