Tour Details
Assassins, secrets, hidden stories, unexplainable events...Would you like to discover the hidden side of Astorga? At the designated time, we'll meet at the Plaza Eduardo de Castro to kick off our free tour of the mysteries and legends of Astorga.
To start this chilling tour, we'll see one of the important architectural gems of Astorga, the Episcopal Palace. Designed by Gaudí, this impressive building hides some of the city's most surprising stories, from its initial design to its construction at the beginning of the 20th century.
From here, we'll step into the heart of Astorga to continue learning about some of the most gruesome events that have marked the history of the city and the comarca of the Maragatería. To do so, we'll stop in front of the Cathedral of Saint Mary. What mysteries hide behind its facade?
After listening to the fascinating stories of Pedro Mato, the legend of the shield assassin, or the Casa del Sacristán, we'll walk along the streets of the center to keep feeling goosebumps with the hidden secrets of Astorga. Have you heard of the Celda de las Emparedadas? The battle of rum and the legend of the well await us on this part of the tour.
Plus, we'll unveil the mysterious lives of Juan Zancuda and Colasa, two important figures to learn about the history of Astorga. You'll be completely petrified!
After 1 hour, we'll say our goodbyes at the Plaza de España and wrap up this free tour of Astorga's mysteries and legends.
