Girona Self-Guided Day Trip
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Barcelona Nord station and make our way to Girona, arriving after a 1.5-hour journey.
Once there, we'll hand out the tickets for the cathedral and the Basilica of Sant Feliu, and you'll be free to explore the city at your own pace. You can wander through Girona's old town (Barri Vell) and discover over 2,000 years of history, from the city's Roman foundations and the Força Vella to its medieval expansion.
You'll also get to take in the baroque facade and grand staircase of Girona Cathedral, which was transformed into the Great Sept of Baelor for some of the most pivotal scenes in season 6 of Game of Thrones.
After visiting the cathedral, you can head inside the Basilica of Sant Feliu to explore its sacred art collection. We also recommend a stroll past the Monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants and a walk through El Call, one of the best-preserved Jewish quarters in Europe, a labyrinth of narrow medieval alleyways.
After a full free day in Girona to walk around, grab a bite, and explore at your own pace, we'll regroup at the designated time in the city center and make our way back to Barcelona, arriving 10 hours after the original pickup.
