Chinese Calligraphy Workshop
Workshop Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Andingmen Inner Street, a few steps away from the Lama Temple in the district of Dongcheng. Are you ready to discover one of the most fascinating treasures of China's cultural heritage? Let's get started!
The experience will take place in a traditional tea room decorated according to feng shui principles. In this harmonious and detailed setting, we'll start our calligraphy workshop as you admire the intricately carved byōbu screens and the space's careful disposition. Did you know that Chinese calligraphy is considered an intangible cultural heritage?
During the workshop, you'll learn how to use the traditional brushes and trace the characters with black ink on rice paper. Guided by an English-speaking expert in calligraphy and with the help of an audio guide in English, you'll learn the structure of the ideograms and practice your own writing. Plus, you can write a message of good luck on golden paper that you'll take home as a personalized souvenir. Your very own unique work of art!
To wrap up, you'll get to relax by choosing either a tea or an original artisanal tea-flavored beer. It'll be a delicious way to conclude this 1.5 to 2-hour workshop.
