Berlin Car Culture Free Tour
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Zimmerstraße 97-100. Right under the shadow of the Berlin Wall, we'll begin our journey by discovering the secrets of the iconic car of communist Germany: the Trabant.
We'll continue the story by learning how one of the most famous vehicles of all time was conceived and developed during the Nazi era. When we arrive at Potsdamer Platz, we'll see the first traffic light in Europe. In this setting, very close to where the first car license was issued, we'll explain the origins of the industry and how this square became the busiest intersection in Germany in the 1920s.
Afterwards, we'll move forward 140 years from the creation of the automobile to visit an exhibition hall where you can hop into the most advanced cars, to get a glimpse of the future prospects of automobile technology.
As well as that, we'll understand how a power like China challenges the big German car manufacturers. We'll admire and even be able to ride in China's best cars from this day and age, and draw our own conclusions.
Lastly, we'll visit an old workshop, now a treasure trove of classic cars. You'll be impressed by rare and timeless cars that are no longer manufactured, each one more valuable than the last.
Finally, after 3 hours of immersion in Berlin’s rich automotive history and culture, we’ll conclude the tour at Beusselstraße S-Bahn Station.
