Free Walking Tour of Berlin
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Pariser Platz in front of the Academy of Arts, to start this free tour of Berlin. From here, we'll cross through the Brandenburg Gate, the most emblematic monument of the German capital, and head towards various places in the city linked to World War II.
We'll first pass by the Holocaust Memorial and then the Führerbunker, Adolf Hitler's former bunker, both symbols of one of the darkest episodes of Germany's history.
The tour will then continue to the former Reich Air Ministry, one of the remaining sections of the Berlin Wall, and the legendary Checkpoint Charlie, which was considered one of the most dangerous places in the world during the Cold War.
Next, we'll head to the Gendarmenmarkt, where we'll see its twin churches from the outside. Our final stop will be in Bebelplatz, a square that was the site of a massive book burning during the Nazi era. After a total of 3.5 hours, the tour will come to an end in this square.
