Casa Marqués de San Jorge Museum + Pre-Hispanic Ceramics Workshop
Activity Details
We'll meet at the indicated time at the entrance of the Luis Ángel Arango Library, and from this point in the center of Bogotá, we'll take a short walk through the La Candelaria neighborhood to the Casa Marqués de San Jorge Archaeological Museum.
Once there, we will take a guided visit through this old colonial house, which contains the largest collection of pre-Hispanic ceramics in Colombia. The exhibition features countless vessels, figures and other objects from different regions and cultures of the country, helping you better understand pre-Columbian society.
After 45 minutes visiting the museum, we will board a private vehicle that will take us to the Caja Negra workshop, located at calle 45A # 20-32. Upon arrival at this ceramics training center, we will rest for a few minutes while enjoying a typical Colombian snack and drink.
After regaining energy, we'll enjoy a pre-Hispanic ceramics workshop, where for 1.5 hours we will learn to shape our own piece following the techniques used by ancestral peoples and cultures of Colombia. You may take home the figure or object you create.
Finally, we will end this 4-hour activity at the Caja Negra workshop.
