Travel back in time visiting Boston, MA's most important historical sites. Explore the world-class Harvard University and see the battlegrounds of the American Revolutionary War on this guided bus tour.

Boston History: Cambridge, Lexington & Concord Tour Itinerary

On the morning of your tour, you'll be picked up from Park Plaza in the heart of Boston city centre, where you'll board your luxury air-conditioned bus ready for a day of exploring American history. Set off in the direction of Cambridge, a city home to two of the world's most prestigious universities: the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, known as MIT, and Harvard University.

After stopping at Harvard and admiring its beautiful architecture, you'll make your way to Lexington. This historic town was one of the most important sites in the American Revolutionary War, and you'll visit the battleground where the first shots were fired at the start of the conflict. The bus tour will then follow in the footsteps of Paul Revere along Battle Road Trail, and you'll learn the significance of this route thanks to your expert guide.

Reaching Concord, you'll be immersed in the United States' literary traditions, seeing the homes of iconic American writers such as Louisa May Alcott and Ralph Waldo Emerson. On the journey back to Boston, you'll see the Old North Bridge, also known as the Concord River Bridge, another famous battle site of the War for Independence.

Boston History Full-Day Tour

When making your reservation, you will be given the choice of two tour options: the full-day tour, which lasts 7 hours, follows the same itinerary as the 4.5 hour half-day tour as above, before embarking on a guided tour of Boston city centre. You'll visit Faneuil Hall - also known as Quincy Market - which has been a marketplace and meeting hall since 1743. Here you'll have and hour and a half of free time to enjoy lunch (not included), browse the vendors' stalls and admire the historic architecture.

You'll then go on a leisurely bus tour of the Beacon Hill and West End neighbourhoods of the Massachusetts' city, giving you fantastic views of the Seaport District and of King Street, the site of the infamous Boston Massacre. Finally, you'll visit the USS Constitution, the world's oldest still-floating commissioned naval vessel, where you'll have the opportunity to discover its legendary history.
