Caleruega Private Tour

At the time you choose, we'll meet in front of the Convent of Santo Domingo to start our private tour of Caleruega. Throughout the visit, we'll discover the charms of this town in the province of Burgos.

In front of the façade of the Convent we'll have an introductory talk about Caleruega and its origins, related to the reconquest of the Duero Valley between 921 and 1085.

We'll then enter the monastic cloister where you can see the different stages through which this architectural work has passed since the 13th century. Did you know that in its most recent restoration, details of the old 13th-century church were discovered?

Afterwards, we'll visit the museum, housed in a Gothic room. There we'll see numerous pieces of great artistic and historical interest on display, including the stone carvings of the Virgin Mary, the Angel of the Annunciation and two sculptures of Saint Dominic.

The next stop will be the 16th-century church attached to the convent, which has a Renaissance style typical of Castile.

Before the end of the private tour, we'll take a break in the square, where we'll look at the façade of the Convent of the Dominicans and we'll say goodbye after an hour and a half of sightseeing.
