Andoke Butterfly Reserve + Cristo Rey Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cali and head to the heart of the Cauca Valley, one of the best places for Colombian flora and fauna. When we arrive, we'll visit the Andoke butterfly reserve, which is home to over 15 native species of butterfly.
During our tour of the Andoke butterfly reserve, you'll learn all about the different characteristics of each species and the important role butterflies play in this ecosystem. As you stroll along the reserve's paths and trails, you'll also see birds of the Cauca Valley, dragonflies, as well as plants necessary for the butterflies' survival.
The butterfly reserve also houses a peculiar map of Colombia showing its geographical regions, rivers, cities, and the flora and fauna of each region. Prepare to be surprised!
Afterward, we'll return to the minibus and head for Cerro Los Cristales, where the undisputable guardian of Cali awaits: the Cristo Rey (Christ the King). This stunning statue and symbol of Cali towers 85 ft high (25 m) and weighs 2204 lbs (464 tonnes).
Once you've taken some photos, we'll return to your hotel in Cali after 4 hours.
