Tour Details

We’ll meet at the scheduled time by the Absalon Statue to begin this guided tour of Copenhagen’s historic center.

First, we’ll stroll along Strøget, the city’s main pedestrian street. This lively urban artery blends historic façades, shopping arcades, and lively squares that act as true hubs of the old town.

Just a short walk away, we’ll reach Christiansborg Palace, located on the islet of Slotsholmen. From the outside, we’ll admire this impressive complex while learning how it serves both as the seat of the Danish Parliament and the setting for the Royal Reception Rooms. We’ll then head to the Stork Fountain in Amagertorv, one of the most recognizable squares in the city center.

From there, we’ll continue to Kongens Nytorv, a grand square surrounded by landmarks such as the Royal Danish Theatre, Hotel d’Angleterre, the Magasin du Nord department store, and the French Embassy.

This monumental setting marks the transition toward Nyhavn, Copenhagen’s most famous canal, known for its colorful historic buildings and long-standing maritime heritage. We’ll also pass by the Playhouse, a contemporary waterfront building, and admire the Copenhagen Opera House across the water.

Next, we’ll stop outside Amalienborg Palace, the official residence of the Danish Royal Family, guarded by the Royal Guard. We’ll also see the Marble Church, locally known as Frederik’s Church, easily recognized by its grand dome and neoclassical style. If time allows, we’ll walk through the King’s Garden and pass by Rosenborg Castle.

We’ll then make our way to City Hall Square, where you’ll notice the shift in urban scale between the historic center and the larger, more contemporary buildings.

After 2 hours of guided sightseeing, we’ll say goodbye, and you’ll have free time to explore the interior of Tivoli Gardens at your own pace.
