Initially there was a problem since it seems that the local provider had not been notified of the hiring of this excursion. We arrived and no one was waiting for us. After contacting the local provider by phone, they immediately mobilized and provided us with the complete service.

This 5-day tour will take you from Cusco to legendary places like Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Maras, and Moray. Let's go!

Day Trip Details

Day 1: Cusco

We'll pick you up at the arrivals terminal at Cusco airport and take you to your hotel, where you can drop off your belongings and settle in.

Later, we'll meet again to begin a guided tour of what was once the capital of the Inca Empire. We'll start at the Cathedral, the most important temple in Cusco, in the central Plaza de Armas, and the Convent of Santo Domingo, built over the Koricancha, a perfect example of the fusion of Inca and Spanish culture.

We'll then head away from the historic center to the archaeological complexes of Sacsayhuamán, Kenko, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. We'll enter all of them and learn more about the Inca civilization. After the tour, we'll return to the hotel for the night.

Day 2: Sacred Valley – Maras and Moray – Aguas Calientes

We'll have an early breakfast at the hotel in Cusco before leaving the city behind and heading into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, deep in the Andes mountain range. Do you know why this ancient civilization held this area in such high esteem? You're about to find out!

The journey will take us to the town of Cruz Pata, where something special awaits. Ready for a quad tour? We'll ride these off-roading vehicles along the trails leading to the Moray complex, where the Inca terraces will look at first glance like a Roman amphitheater. It'll take your breath away!

We'll continue the quad tour toward the traditional village of Maras, where we'll see the famous salt pans. Did you know this is one of the few places in the world where pink salt is extracted?

We'll then head back to the starting point, leave the quads behind, and continue to Mountain View for a picnic surrounded by the breathtaking natural landscape of the Sacred Valley.

Refreshed and ready, we'll head to Ollantaytambo train station to travel to Aguas Calientes and check in to our hotel on arrival.

Day 3: Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is the highlight of any trip to Peru, and there's no way we're missing one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. We'll leave the hotel at around 6 am and, on arrival, explore the ancient citadel dating back to before the 15th century, built at over 2,400 meters (7,874 feet) above sea level. It'll leave you speechless!

We'll return to Aguas Calientes and board the train back to Ollantaytambo, from where we'll head back to the hotel in Cusco for the night.

Day 4: Cusco – Rainbow Mountain

We'll get an early start on day 4 and travel to one of Peru's greatest natural treasures: Rainbow Mountain. We'll stop in Kusipata for breakfast before making our way to the starting point of the hiking route through one of the most iconic spots in the country.

Along the trek through Rainbow Mountain, at over 4,600 meters (15,092 feet) above sea level, we'll discover the unique landscape surrounding the majestic Ausangate mountain, one of the most important peaks in Cusco and considered a sacred entity since Inca times.

We'll climb past mysterious summits, accompanied by Andean animals such as alpacas, sheep, and vicuñas, and uncover the secrets of this place, also known as Vinicunca or the Mountain of Seven Colors. You'll have time to photograph Rainbow Mountain before we begin the descent back to the bus.

We'll then enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a restaurant in Kusipata before heading back to Cusco, arriving at the hotel at the end of the day.

Day 5: Cusco

Time to say goodbye. After breakfast, we'll wrap up this 5-day circuit by taking you to the airport to catch your return flight, bringing our fantastic journey through some of the most beautiful corners of the ancient Inca Empire to a close.
