Ancient streets, giant Buddhas, and other surprises await on this guided walking and vehicle tour of Guangzhou, one of China's largest cities. You'll be captivated from start to finish!

Tour Options

When booking this guided walking and vehicle tour of Guangzhou, you can choose between a half-day or a full-day tour. Both routes include an English-speaking guide and start at Exit B of the Beijing Road metro station.

Here's what makes each route different:

Half-Day Tour (3.5 Hours)

We'll kick off our guided tour of Guangzhou by strolling along Beijing Road, a pedestrian street. Did you know that the central axis of old Guangzhou has over 1,000 years of history?

Next, we'll head to the Dafo Sanctuary, better known as the Temple of the Great Buddha. Despite its name, this sacred site doesn't house just one figure of the founder of Buddhism, but 3 cast bronze Buddhas. Each one stands 6 m (20 ft) tall and weighs 10 tons.

Throughout the visit, we'll learn the history of these figures, cast during the Qing Dynasty, which were once the largest bronze statues in the entire Guangdong province. Pretty impressive, right?

Finally, we'll wrap up the tour at the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. It's one of the largest traditional buildings still standing in Guangzhou and is known as the pearl of Lingnan architectural art. It won't take long to see why!

Full-Day Tour (8 Hours)

We'll start this tour of Guangzhou following the same route as the half-day itinerary, visiting Beijing Road and the Temple of the Great Buddha first.

After that, you'll have 1 hour of free time to grab lunch in the area, and once you've recharged, we'll head to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall to discover its fascinating history.

We'll continue our walking tour of Guangzhou along Yongqing Alley, home to the former residence of kung fu legend Bruce Lee. In this alley, you'll also find traditional craft and ceramics shops, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Guangzhou.

We'll end our route on Shamian Island, known for its beautiful European-style buildings.
