Explore the vibrant and historic areas of St. Pauli, Landungsbrücken, and Reeperbahn in the city of Hamburg on this free walking tour. You'll discover the city's most traditional market, its red-light district, and more!

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Landungsbrücken Bridge number 5, an iconic waterfront area in the St. Pauli district where the spirit of Hamburg's maritime heritage comes alive. Then, we'll kick off our free walking tour. Ready to discover the most popular area in Hamburg?

First, we'll head to the Old Elbe Tunnel to marvel at this early 20th-century engineering. This tunnel connects the inner city with the industrial docks and ports on the south side of the Elbe River. Next, we'll explore the Fish Market, Hamburg's most infamous market. Here, the sights, sounds, and smells of fresh seafood will create an unforgettable sensory experience. Then, we'll stroll through Park Fiction, a community-driven green space that showcases the city's creative spirit.

As we continue our free walking tour, we'll dive into the heart of Hamburg's nightlife and entertainment scene at the legendary Reeperbahn. Did you know it's nicknamed die sündige Meile, which means "the sinful mile?" Afterward, we'll head to Beatles-Platz, a square paved in black that looks like a vinyl record, surrounded by silhouettes representing The Beatles. This square was built to commemorate Hamburg's importance in the history of the Fab Four (or Five, for that matter!).

Then, we'll learn about the history of the Große Freiheit, a street that played an important role in the city's cultural evolution. We'll also pass by the infamous street of Herbertstraße, where you'll catch a glimpse of Hamburg's red-light district. Our last stop will be the historic Davidwache police station, an important building keeping order and peace in the neighborhood for over a century.

After 2 hours of exploring the city with the guide, our free walking tour will conclude at this last spot. Auf Wiedersehen!
