Hammamet Tour + Nabeul Market
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Hammamet and head to Nabeul, a city where clay becomes art and spices tell stories.
As soon as we arrive, we’ll step into a ceramics studio, where wheels spin as they have for generations and skilled hands shape plates, jugs, and tiles following patterns inherited from Punic and Andalusian times. Did you know Nabeul was one of the great pottery centers in North Africa?
Next, we’ll explore its medina, a sensory maze where the air is filled with cumin, harissa, and orange blossom water. There, we’ll visit its famous market. We’ll walk past stalls of hammered copper, embroidery, palm baskets, and sun-dyed leather. Each object reflects a piece of Tunisia’s heritage. You’ll learn why many souks (Arab markets) have been organized by trade guilds since medieval times.
After 1.5 to 2 hours in Nabeul, we’ll return to Hammamet, often called the Tunisian Saint-Tropez, where the Mediterranean washes against its whitewashed walls. We’ll spend 2 hours exploring its medina, built facing the sea as both defense and lookout, with narrow streets leading to terraces overlooking the blue horizon.
Of course, we’ll stop in front of the Kasbah, stroll through the souks, and reach the old fishing port. Surrounded by Islamic architecture and golden coastal light, we’ll end this unique and immersive experience before returning to your hotel.
We’ll say our goodbyes after 4.5 to 5 hours.
