Las Terrazas & Soroa Waterfalls Day Trip

Day Trip Details

After picking you up at your hotel in Havana, we'll begin our journey toward the region of Sierra del Rosario, declared a World Network of Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. During the trip, we'll admire the views of this mountainous area in western Cuba.

Our first stop will be at a coffee farm from the 19th century, where we'll learn about coffee beans and their importance during the colonial period. Afterward, we'll continue our route in search of Hotel Moka, a traditional architectural gem that fits in perfectly with its surrounding gardens. From the outside, we'll see the house of the Cuban singer-songwriter Polo Montañez, who wrote the famous Guajiro Natural.

Then, we'll head to Las Terrazas, a town on the shores of the San Juan River whose origins date back to the 70s as a project to reforest the area. Here, if you want, you can zipline, one of the best experiences to dive into the heart of the tropical forest. After the visit, we'll head to a local restaurant so you can indulge in a typical Cuban lunch. Enjoy!

In the afternoon, we'll visit the Soroa Orchid Botanical Garden, where we'll stroll among thousands of specimens of these gorgeous flowers. Next, we'll stop in front of the Castillo de las Nubes, a building built in the 40s with a European medieval architecture influence.

Lastly, we'll reach one of Cuba's tallest waterfalls, the Salto de Soroa (Soroa Waterfalls), a stunning waterfall standing at 72 feet (22 meters). Ready to swim? To end the day, you'll have some free time to swim, take pictures, and relax surrounded by this tropical forest.

Finally, we'll say our goodbyes back at your hotel in Havana 10 hours after pickup.
