Turtle Release in Puerto Ángel
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Huatulco and head towards the Oaxacan coast. On board a vehicle, we'll drive along a scenic stretch of pristine beaches and tropical vegetation that will make you fall in love at first sight.
After about an hour's drive, we'll arrive at Puerto Ángel, a fishing port that has preserved its traditional essence despite the passage of time. This corner of the Pacific is not only famous for its scenery, but also for being a key point in Mexico's marine conservation efforts.
You'll receive an informative talk that will help you understand the incredible life cycle of sea turtles. You'll learn about their birth, their struggle to survive, the dangers they face and the essential role you play in participating in their release—a lesson in life and nature!
Finally, the most awaited moment of the day will arrive: the turtle release. You'll be able to carefully hold a jicara bowl with a small hatchling, a traditional and safe way of transporting them without interfering with their delicate natural instinct.
With the sunset tinting the sky in shades of gold, pink and orange, you can accompany your baby turtle to the seashore and watch as it begins its journey into the vastness of the ocean. You'll be thrilled!
Afterwards, you'll have some free time to enjoy the surroundings, relax on the beach and capture this moment with photos before heading back to Huatulco. We'll arrive at your hotel about 3 hours after pickup.
