Yanayacu River 6-day Trip
Yanayacu River 6-day Trip
Day 1
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Iquitos at 9:15 am. We'll then transfer you to the city port for a boat trip to the camp where we'll stay.
Once there, we'll have a delicious buffet lunch before taking a walk to discover the exuberant nature that surrounds us. We'll also have the opportunity to glimpse the pygmy marmoset, the smallest primate in the world, and enjoy a fantastic sunset by a beautiful lagoon.
When the sun has disappeared behind the horizon, we'll enjoy a succulent dinner and then head into the jungle aboard a boat to find the fearsome alligators.
Day 2
After breakfast, we'll take a trip to the Sapote lagoon and the Moena lagoon where we'll see birds, sloths, and adorable little monkeys hanging from the branches.
We'll eat to regain our strength and then those who want can go fishing for piranhas in the Corriente and Purura lagoons. Afterwards, we'll go to observe the hoatzin, a prehistoric bird of striking colors. Later, we'll have dinner and end the day in the undergrowth looking for tarantulas and frogs.
Day 3
On the third day, we'll discover the amazing pink dolphin of the Amazon! We'll also see iguanas and one of the most colossal water plants in the world: the Victoria Regia. After lunch, we'll take a boat trip to Juanachi Lagoon to watch the birds that live there. After dinner, we'll take a brilliant night tour.
Day 4
We'll have a tasty breakfast and then those who want can camp in a remote area to experience the depths of the Amazon rainforest. There you'll have a picnic lunch and can even catch your own fish for dinner if you wish.
Day 5
Those who have slept in the jungle will enjoy a picnic breakfast and then return to base camp. There we'll eat together and set off for San Juan de Yanayacu, where we learn all about life on the Amazon riverbank. We'll return to the cabins to have a snack and before setting off on a night walk to discover giant frogs.
Day 6
On the last day of the adventure, we'll go into the Amazon River to discover the Sapote Lagoon. Dozens of birds cohabit in this place, where we'll enjoy their company. The next stop will be at Moena Lagoon where we'll see sloths tied to their trunks.
After the boat trip, we'll have a buffet lunch before returning to Iquitos where we arrive at 4 pm approx.
Accommodation
This tour includes 4 nights of full board accommodation in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge and one night at the campsite. You also have the option to spend all 5 nights at the lodge if you prefer. The camping cabins have private bathrooms and a terrace with hammocks facing the river.

If your flight time does not coincide with the timetable indicated, we can adapt the timetable to pick you up on arrival by adding a supplement for a late pickup. It's preferable to travel in sunlight to see the river, so the maximum departure time would be 3 pm.
