Agra Private Day Trip
No trip to India is complete without a visit to the magical Taj Mahal in Agra. Fall in love with one of the Seven Wonders of the World on this full day trip from Jaipur.
Agra Private Day Trip
After an early pick up from your hotel in Jaipur, you’ll head out of the city and towards the east by air-conditioned vehicle. Along the four-hour journey, you’ll stop for a comfort break.
Having arrived in Agra around 10:30 am, you’ll be taken straight to one of the most famous monuments in India, and indeed the world.
The Taj Mahal was commissioned in 1632 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favourite wife. It was finished in 1651, and its construction involved some 20,000 workers and 1000 elephants. Today, it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Hear all about its history as you explore the beautiful historical site.
Once you’ve explored the impressive complex of buildings, amongst which the iconic mausoleum particularly stands out, you’ll head to a local restaurant, where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch of local specialities (not included).
You’ll then head to Agra Fort, built under emperor Akbar in 1565 to protect the then-capital of India. Considered one of the biggest and most luxurious fortresses in the country, Agra Fort also offers incredible views of the Taj Mahal.
Finally, around 5 pm, you’ll set off back to Jaipur, where you’ll arrive around 9 pm.
