Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Joinville, from where we'll begin this tour of the Max Moppi Distillery and the Krürger House. On the journey, we'll see the bucolic landscapes and farms with beautiful gardens on the outskirts of the city. You'll adore it!
Our first stop will be at the Krüger House, a building constructed in 1925 above a great field where sugarcane and corn were once grown. Did you know that in 2015 the house was declared a National Historical Site? There, we'll be told all about the importance of immigration in Santa Catarina through photographs, clothes from the time and different utensils. We'll also see how the Krüger family lived and learn about their custom and traditions.
Next, we'll head to the Max Moppi Distillery, where we'll learn about the production process of cachaça. Do you know what it is? This will be revealed to you! It's one of the most famous distilled beverages in Brazil. We'll also see the stills where this product has been made for over 125 years. As well as that, we'll learn how oxen mills were used at the beginning of the production of this drink. To put the cherry on top of this visit, we'll take part in a tasting of the different types of cachaças. Cheers!
After this stop, we’ll head to the Pfau Apiary, where you’ll get a close-up look at bee breeding and care, as well as learn about the honey extraction process. Next, we’ll visit Vale das Pitaias, home to fields where 20 different types of pitaya are grown. If you're visiting between January and April, you'll even have the chance to harvest the fruit straight from the plant.
The tour continues to Rancho da Cana, a local spot known for its handcrafted cachaça and traditional liqueurs. We’ll then visit the Expoville Shopping Center, a space that blends modern architecture with nature, and stop by the Pórtico, a striking wooden structure that’s become a symbol of Joinville.
After about three hours of exploration, we’ll return to the vehicle and take you back to your hotel in Joinville.
