Immerse yourself in the depths of the Cueva de Las Palomas in La Palmas on this caving tour and feel like an expert spelologist as you tour this stunning lava tube and find out how it was created.
After collecting you from your chosen meeting point, head to the Cueva de Las Palomas, located between Las Manchas and Todoque. Your guide will reveal interesting facts about this cavity, which was created after the San Juan volcano erupted in 1949, during the journey. Upon arrival, you’ll put on the necessary caving equipment and walk into this impressive lava tube.
During the guided tour inside the cave you will find various sections bathed in natural light. The reason? A dozen small entrances that connect the cave with the outdoors formed by the lava flowing through the cavities after the eruption.
As you explore the cave’s tunnels you will understand why scientists and biologists find this cave so fascinating. Its immense patrimonial and geological value have made this cave a Heritage of Cultural Interest by UNESCO.
Once the tour comes to an end you will return to the starting point.
