Delve into the rich history and powerful nature of Gran Canaria by visiting the Old Town of Las Palmas, the Botanical Garden and the incomparable Caldera de Bandama.
The tour meets in Plaza Hurtado de Mendoza known as plaza de las Ranas (frogs square), where we'll begin our guided walking tour of the historic centre of Las Palmas.
This area accommodates the city’s oldest buildings, including the striking Casa de Colón (Columbus House). This beautiful edifice is dedicated to Christopher Columbus and his voyages. You will also stroll through the main square and explore the Cathedral of Santa Ana, heart of Las Palmas. Then, visit other more modern constructions, but equally indispensable, including the Gabinete Literario and the Pérez-Galdós Theatre, named after the world-famous Spanish writer born in Las Palmas.
After the walking tour, you will head back to the bus to enjoy a panoramic tour of the port of Las Palmas. Next, you will have lunch at your own leisure in one of the numerous restaurants near playa de Las Canteras (Las Canteras Beach). If you have time to spare after lunch and you wish to do some shopping, we recommend heading to the streets near Santa Catalina Park.
The day trip continues with a tour of Viera y Clavijo Botanical Garden. Learn about the autochthonous plants from Macaronesia, the varied ecosystem from the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Azores and Madeira. Lastly, you will be driven to the Bandama Caldera. The fury of the volcanoes left us this incredible crater measuring 1,000 meters wide and 200 meters deep. It will take your breath away!
After discovering Bandama you will be dropped off near your hotel.
