Sayán & Churin Day Trip
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your chosen meeting point in Lima and set off northbound towards Sayán.
Did you know that this town is famous for being the land of alfajor? As well as telling you all about the history of this traditional sweet treat, we'll go on a guided tour of Sayán. During our tour, we'll see its main square, the Church of San Jerónimo and the house of the liberator José de San Martín.
Next, we'll drive to Churin and stop at the entrance of this municipality so we can visit the mysterious Mamahuarmi Cave. We'll unveil the legend of Princess Shumac as we explore this enchanting place.
When we arrive in Churin, we'll visit a fish farm and take a break so you can have lunch on your own. After lunch, we'll take a tour of Churin and visit its main square, the 16th-century colonial church and the monument to Mamahuarmi. You'll then have some free time to purchase souvenirs.
We'll round off our day trip with a visit to the Tingo Thermal Complex, which is only a few miles from Churin. Its hot springs boast a high concentration of sulphur, iron and lithium, which are perfect for treating ailments such as rheumatism and arthritis and for purifying the skin. Here, you'll have free time to relax in the natural pools.
It'll then be time to set off on our return journey to Lima. We'll drop you back at the starting point at around 10 pm.
