    Our tour guide, Filipia Miranda, was excellent. She provided a brief, succinct history in each of the neighborhoods we visited. I loved how she talked about customs/ traditions in each of the neighborhoods. She knew the shortcuts and how to avoid too much hill climbing The group appreciated her humor and her sincerity and her assistance in making plans for possible visits in the neighborhoods of Lisbon. History

The Praça de Comércio was built in the late 18th century, following a devastating earthquake in 1755. This earthquake destroyed the country's royal palace, Paço da Ribeira.
