Soča Valley Day Trip
Activity Details
At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at from your hotel in Ljubljana and set off on this wonderful day trip to the Soča Valley, one of the most beautiful landscapes in northwestern Slovenia. Let's go!
Our first stop will be Lake Rabelj, known as Laghi di Fusini in neighboring Italy. Upon arrival, we'll be overwhelmed by the tranquility of its waters, where the peaks of the Julian Alps are reflected as if in a mirror. Here, we'll take the first photos of the day. Afterward, we'll cross the Predel Pass, a mountain route between the Italian and Slovenian territories. The scenery on this stretch is beautiful!
Next, we'll descend towards Strmec and, when you least expect it, we'll reach the Soča Valley, where we'll see a natural spectacle that will leave you in awe. We'll arrive at the Great Soča Gorge and contemplate how the river has sculpted the limestone, creating a steep cliff. There, we'll take a short walk along the riverbed to reach the best observation points in the area.
Shall we continue? After the visit, we'll go in search of Bovec, a picturesque alpine village, and we'll leave you free time for lunch—don't forget to try their craft beers! With renewed energy, we'll visit the Boka waterfall, rising 100 meters (328 ft) into the sky. We'll take a short walk to the viewpoint for a unique panoramic view.
We'll end the day touring Kobarid, a town with an important legacy of the First World War. We'll explore its surroundings and understand how history and nature are intertwined in this corner by contemplating the Kozjak waterfall.
Finally, we'll drive back to Ljubljana and say goodbye at your hotel 12 hours after pickup.
