Marble Cathedral Boat Ride or Kayak Tour
Marble Cathedral Boat Ride or Kayak Tour
Between 8 am and 8:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Los Antiguos. From this Argentine city in the province of Santa Cruz, we'll traverse the border into Chile, where one of the natural wonders of Patagonia awaits us.
We'll stop on the shores of a great Patagonian lake, called General Carrera on the Chilean side and Buenos Aires on the Argentinean side. On the Chilean shore, we'll have a mid-morning snack, which will include nuts or hazelnut cookies. Then, we'll embark on a boat trip on Lake General Carrera, whose scenery will absolutely astound you.
We'll sail to the famous marble chapels and cathedral. These rocks, declared the National Monument of Chile, are part of a huge set of calcium carbonate mineral formations. From the boat, you'll be able to admire their deep blue tones and unique shapes.
At the end of the one-hour cruise, we'll toast with a Chilean pisco sour, accompanied by a sweet bonbon. Afterwards, we'll go to a barbecue area located on the shores of Lake General Carrera. At this typical rancho, we'll have a delicious lunch that will include a selection of savory cakes, homemade puddings, and assorted infusions.
After lunch, we'll hit the road again in the minibus and drive through the amazing Patagonian landscapes. Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Los Antiguos, where we'll arrive at 8 pm.
Kayak tour
If you prefer, you can see the chapels and the marble cathedral with a kayak tour on Lake General Carrera. This route, which also lasts an hour, is suitable for beginners. Bear in mind that it's subject to weather conditions, and those who choose this option will have a bit less time for lunch.
