Lübeck Christmas Market Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Holsten Gate, a symbol of the city’s rich history, before venturing into the heart of Lübeck’s Christmas magic at the bustling Marktplatz.
Every year, Lübeck is transformed into a winter wonderland, with its medieval streets and squares glowing under twinkling lights, while the scent of roasted almonds and mulled wine fills the air.
We'll be immersed in the festive spirit from the get-go as we explore this enchanting Hanseatic city, known for its beautifully preserved old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As we wander through the market, we’ll also take in the medieval St. Mary’s Church, easily recognised by its turquoise roof and two-towered façade.
With a history dating back to 1648, Lübeck’s Christmas market is a cornerstone of the city's Advent traditions. As we stroll through its cosy wooden stalls, we'll find handmade crafts, perfect for those looking to tick some items off their Christmas list. Be sure to try some of Lübeck’s renowned marzipan—a local delicacy that's been enjoyed here for centuries.
During the tour, we'll be treated to a warming cup of mulled wine. As we wander, we'll see how the market's charm lies in its balance between tradition and vibrancy. Adding to the festive atmosphere, we'll hear Christmas choirs filling the air with carols, and for the adventurous, there’s even an ice skating rink to enjoy!
After 1.5 hours of festive fun, we’ll wrap up the tour in the Marktplatz. Happy holidays!
