Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Mazatlán Marina. There, we'll set off on a speedboat ride over the waves in search of the impressive humpback whales that inhabit the Gulf of California.

An expert in marine biodiversity will accompany us on our whale-watching tour to help us identify the creatures we see along the way. Keep your eyes peeled as we enter the waters of the Pacific! Seeing a humpback whale leap above the ocean is a unique sight that you'll never forget. You're going to want to have your cameras ready throughout the tour to ensure you capture every moment.

During the tour, we may also spot other creatures native to the area, including dolphins, turtles, sea lions and manta rays.

While we enjoy the Mazatlán coastline and its fauna, we'll also collaborate in real monitoring projects, learning to identify the different marine life in Mazatlán's waters and recording the behaviour patterns of the whales with the team.

To make the activity even more special, with this tour you'll be actively supporting local whale rescue, beach clean-up and environmental education, a unique contact with nature!

Afterwards, we'll return to the harbour to finish the activity. Once back on dry land, we'll take you back to your hotel and say goodbye 3 hours later.

Additional Info

It is very common to see whales around Mazatlán. However, please bear in mind that animals are unpredictable. Sightings depend on numerous factors including the weather, ocean currents and wind direction, so we cannot guarantee the sightings of any species of whale.

Whale Museum

To continue learning about these fascinating animals, we'll give you tickets to visit the MUNBA, the Whale Museum. This museum is the perfect place to learn all about whales, their history in the Mexican Pacific and how they influence the marine ecosystem.

These tickets can be used at any time during your stay in Mazatlán. We'll give you the tickets at the end of the whale watching tour.
